sweet mango

I never thought

I'd find a kid

the way i found you

hanging from a tree

looking like a mango

all juicy and red through

from a far you were big and round

looking like a pumpkin

ready to be squashed

the closer i get

the plainer you seem

round and full

hanging upside down

from a lace up in the tree

ALAS! ALAS!

out of nowhere

a stone flew by

waap, straight in the side

down came the mango

in a wallop of frenzy

straight in my tummy.

Love

MY LOVE

by: Alecia Robinson

My love for you will never die

Even though I'm always shy

My unspoken words are hard to say

Especially to say how much I love you

I'll dream of you

I'll think of you

I'm always wondering what you do

You're my life

You're my song

You're my sugar in my cup

What these words are simply saying

Is that I love You very much.

Crime and violence

Mi say di crime and violence

Crime and violence ina di nation

Everyday mi wake up a pure frustration

People can't walk free pon road again

Because it hard fi tell di one dem weh a fren

Every day mi listen the news

Mi hear all sort a views

Him shot, she stab and dem ya one a grab

Before dem stop crime and run go a rehab

Ina dem yah time when recession nuh stop bite

Why dem a kill when a now we fi unite

Mi say di crime and violence

Mi say di crime an violence

Lawd! what a crisis we have ina dis we society

We need to work together to preserve humanity

Mi tired fi fret an sit dung up a night

A pray to father God to protect mi from di fright

Jamaicans we need to come together

Take care of all sister and bredda

No more crime and violence

God's Love

To you I give my love
that you may cherish
like the father up above
and to bear fruits that flourish
through all four seasons
as God placed us here for different reasons
The work that God assigned to us
unimportant as it seems
It makes us prosperous
and bring reality closer to our dreams
If we only learn to pray and trust
then our problems God will turn to dust
